Red River Gorge, Kentucky

One of my favorite places to visit in Kentucky is the Red River Gorge. A beautiful place with lots of natural sandstone arches and nice hiking trails.

My little artist:

We hiked to thetop of the Natural Bridge, part of a State Park in Kentucky.
Goingthrough "Fat Man's Squeeze":
On top of the Bridge:
We had just missed the height of the 17-year cicada cycle. Luckily for us, apparently! But anyway, my parent's yard was "crunchy" from all the old shells on the ground, and many cicadas (similar to locusts) were still hanging around. At the gorge we found this nice specimen who let us take some photos:
Look at those buggy red eyes!!!!
In the creek at Natural Bridge:
Doesn't this picture look fake? Or at least like it was done in a studio with a fake backdrop? And yes, my daughter does hike in long white dresses.
