She is tiny, and super cute.

Peaches and Berets

Owen found a pattern, and made a beret yesterday. It turned out nice! Now to work on those sewing skills....

John brought back a box of peaches from the west slope last week - yum! Peaches and cream.

New Playground

The new playground has been the talk of th eschool, since we started back in August. Kids have been waiting patiently (!!) for the equipment to be put up, and then for that crazy orange fence to come down. Finally - Wednesday - the fence came down! The biggest complaint I heard after school was - not enough time on the equipment. Okay, off to play after homework is finished!

We made sumac lemonade - because of many wonderful sumac fruit!

Here are the berries.

Soak in water a few hours, then filter through cheesecloth.

Voila! Woody-flavored kool-aid. We added a fair amount of sugar, butthe woody taste was still there. Otherwise, it was cherry kool-aid!

Lots of rain brought lots of mushrooms!
